Jackson Co. Energy District participates in the KMAQ Farm and Home Show

Board members Vickie Putman, Megan Andresen, Mike Griffin, and Bruce Fisher had the pleasure of attending the Jackson Co. Energy District Booth during the KMAQ Farm and Home Show in February.

The Energy District Team connected with over 500 attendees. We shared the Energy District story and offered education on the value of transitioning from traditional incandescent light bulbs to LED bulbs. In addition, many farmers and homeowners expressed interest in our plans to help county residents, farmers, and businesses increase energy efficiency and our efforts to support renewable, locally generated power. Indeed, nine farmers signed up to receive additional information and/or support for farm energy planning, 12 home owners expressed interest in support for their efforts to increase home energy efficiency, and 14 residents/business owners indicated interest in pursuing a solar power installation this year. In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to those that expressed interest in solar power or energy efficiency to discuss their needs further and support their path for lower energy bills and clean, locally generated energy. If you are also interested in our Go Solar initiative or want to lower your energy bills through increased energy efficiency, please let us know.
